Importance of Water

People always ask me why they have pain in their muscles and why they are perpetually tight! The number one reason I find for tight muscles is lack of hydration. However, when I recommend to the patient that they need to take in at least 3 Liters of water a day they gasp, and think it is not possible!

It is possible. It takes an effort but it is possible. If you fill up your water jug in the morning and drink whenever you see it you would be well on your way to proper hydration and decrease in tension of the muscles.

The human body stives to maintain balance between the amount of water that we lose vs. what we take in. Living in Florida it is inevitable that we will sweat a portion of our water out. This needs to be replaced or signs of dehydration may set in:

  • thirst
  • weakness
  • nausea
  • irritability
  • dizziness
  • muscle cramps and pain
  • headaches

Water helps form the fluids in our joints, muscous in our lungs, and many other bodily fluids. In addition, it is necessary when we exercise to drink water to replace what it lost during exertion.

Please drink water to for your health and see the benefits for yourself!
